Our main function as a club is to perform community service. That can take many forms. If it meets our four-way test, we want to help. Here is some of the projects we are currently working on. Click on the link for more detailed information about what we are doing:
MDA Summer Camp Carnival - Every year the Muscular Dystrophy Association holds a summer camp for children stricken with the disease. Part of that camp is a carnival our club puts on. We’ve built many games specifically designed for a child with MD.
MDA Labor Day Telethon - Every year we Mann the donations telephones for “Jerry’s Kids”. It’s a fun time and one of the more rewarding experiences one can have.
Partnership with Community Cycling Center - Every year we host a used bike drive. We take those bikes to the Community Cycling Center where they repair them and make them look like new. Then there’s a bike “Rodeo” where underprivileged children can participate but not before choosing their free bike and helmet. And not before they are custom fit to their bike to make sure their riding experience is not only fun... but safe.
Serendipity Alternative School - Every year we go to the school and fix what’s needed. Perhaps a new coat of paint; fix a door, the floor or just about anything else we are capable of. The school runs on a low budget, and anything we can do to help... we’re there.
Ron Russell Middle School - With the school not only hosting our used bike drive, together we put together and deliver food baskets and toys for lower income children in the David Douglas School District
Come join our Rotary Team. It’s fun, rewarding and it’s the right thing to do!
